Marc Brandenburg depicts disjunction and balance in his hyper-contoured black and white drawings. Using abstraction, along with snapshots of people and objects, sometimes utilizing a strobe light effect, Brandenburg creates tension between light and dark, form and formlessness. If his motifs include loss of control and excess (football fans, ravers, sexuality) then his structure regains order, in an aggressive sequence of images, a web of black and white, or the intensely detailed surface of each piece.
